Appendix A: Feature Attribute Table Design

This appendix contains the results of the attribute table design for DLG-E feature attributes. The work is based on Standards Version 0.12 and DPDF design of 12/92. This work is further described in Section 6.

In working with a specific version of the DLG-E Content Standards Database, some statistics were used to provide guidance to overall attribute table design.

There are 196 feature types.
114 feature types have Name attribute
190 feature types have the Photorevised Attribute
47 feature types have no attributes

Each feature type is listed alphabetically along with its attribute table(s), if any. The attribute tables are shown as their column headings (i.e attribute labels.) The longer descriptive terms for the attribute codes are listed following the attribute tables for easier reference.

Note: Although functional dependencies among attributes are not necessarily preserved by the attribute table designs, a note that they exist are included in this section as "COND" clauses. When an attribute is multi-valued it is followed by an "mv".
